Update: Sorry, I just looked through the manual again and found that this is just “Paraphonic Unison” mode, which is the third option of the “Global Parameters Group 4”.
Idk how niche something like this is, but it feels like it should be something that people would have wanted before.
Basically, I have a patch that I currently run in duophonic mode. But it also sounds good in unison, and the extra volume from suddenly adding another voice altogether can detract a bit from the phrases I want to play.
It would be nice if I could figure out a way such that it would behave exactly as it currently does, but also assign both voices to one pitch when only one note is held down.
Is this something that can be achieved? I remember learning that there is some way to alter the behaviour of some of the digital parts of the matriarch that aren’t available in the global controls via midi. But idk if this sort of voice assignment would be included in there.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this is something I could do in the menus of the synth, but I haven’t been able to find anything.
