Mater tuning

Hi,
Anyone know how to change the master tuning from a=440 to a=444?

Thanks

From page 22 of the user’s manual:

“Fine Tune:
The FINE TUNE control (knob) is used to tune the Voyager’s oscillators +/ – 2 semitones for matching an external
reference pitch.”

crazy, I cant do it globally? must be a glitch in the matrix

By using the master fine tune knob, you are actually doing it globally. The Voyager is first and foremost an analog synthesizer, with MIDI capabilities and added modulations possibilities that come with it. This isn’t a digital synth that you select a digital frequency value for master pitch globally. You move a knob, effectively changing an analog control voltage inside the machine, and this voltage is then converted into digital data that can be displayed on a screen.

Think of it as a 100% analog Minimoog D with extended MIDI capabilities added to it.

My alesis andromeda has a global tuning frequency.

It also has auto tuning, background tuning that I usaully set to off. Likely moog didn’t want to dick with it. Not everyone is going to want a-440 though, who knows. thx again for the heads up. appreciate you ytaking the time to respond. I spent an hour with the manual.

You’re welcome.

Yes the Alesis Andromeda team went somewhat another way than Moog, and created first and foremost a “digital synth” that controls analog custom made audio circuits inside. With software generated digital envelopes and LFOs. Much like Dave Smith’s Prophet 08.

No such things inside a Voyager. Real analog (fast) envelopes, real analog LFO. Even the vintage Memorymoog and Prophet 5 were 100% analog with digital control added. No software generated envelopes or LFOs in those machines either.

Interesting,

I always thought the andy used digital only for the midi, was thinking the voyager was following suit. Thanks for the heads up!!
