Matching old synth tone onto sub 37

Hello all

Just purchased a sub 37 and have a tone i’m looking for, figured this might be a good place to ask this question.

I used a patch on garage band called “ANTIMATTER LEAD” with a midi keyboard. Ideally I would like to play this tone on the sub 37. Being green to the sub 37 I am admittedly having a bit of trouble getting a matching tone or a very similar tone. I made a soundcloud and posted the sample sound i’m chasing and was wondering if anyone that knows their way around a sub 37 could give me some tips or pointers on how to get where i need to go. I wouldn’t be shocked if you cant get the same tone but the anything in the right direction will be a great help.

Here’s a start for you:

  1. OSC 1 at 8’, ramp wave
  2. OSC 2 at 4’ ramp, freq. at +1.5
  3. Hard sync on
  4. Mod 1 set at pgm, select controllers, source is filt EG, dest is OS2 freq, mod 1 amt is +3.5
  5. Mod 2 set at pgm, select controllers, source is sine LFO, pgm dest is OSC1 lev, mod 2 amt is 3, LFO2 rate is one tick below 3
  6. Mixer-OSC1 on at zero, OSC2 on at 5, everything else off
  7. Filter-one mark below 5khz, res zero, multidrive at 5, 24db, eg amt is +2.5
  8. Filter EG, a zero, decay 6, sus, zero, release zero, multi trig on
  9. Amp EG, all zero, sus at 10
  10. Glide on, osc 1 & 2, time at 5

Play with mod 1 amt, osc 2 freq. and waveform to get the timber you like, and add a little reverb. This should get you close, hope I didn’t miss anything, have fun!

Dam this looks great thanks for the thorough reply friend. Ill give it a shot when i get off work in a few hours. Before i start turning any knobs is there a prefered setting or mode i should be in? For example I now understand you can put it in either blank preset mode or board mode which seems to use whatever settings the knobs are turned to.

Any suggestions?

***UPDATE

Spot on you nailed the tone. Got it all set up you saved a bunch of my hair from getting pulled out. much appreciated!

I started with a blank patch, though I think panel mode will get you there as well.
