i was just wondering if anyone has ever encountered this (voyager performer, early SN):
when playing a continuous sound, e.g., a drone or a sequence that features a lot of resonance (=high pitched sweeps, or just extremely high tones) , the higher frquencies are still audible with the main output knob turned down all the way. it sounds a little hissy or fweepy.
the sound that is still audible when turning the knob down all the way can be killed by turning the “amount to filter” knob all the way down, too.
is this a fixable thing? not a big deal, just wondering.
There is always a little bit of bleedthrough from the main output VCA even when the volume is all the way down or the gate is turned off. Usually this can be solved completely by turning the Voyager volume all the way up and using not so much gain after the synth. Often the problem will become apparent if you are playing with the Voyager master volume less than 100% and turning up the gain after the synth to compensate. This will of course amplify any small noise coming out of the Voyager. If you cannot adjust the gain staging in this way to attain a satisfactory result, a simple noise gate between the Voyager output and your mixer/amp input will stop the background noise completely.
