Mars Moog Voyager -- cd/dvd

After 110 consecutive days of new music created on the Moog Voyager
along with manipulated images from Mars the “Today’s Muse” site has
concluded. However, the final seven days of pieces are still online and
an html CD and hi-res DVD are on their way – check it at

I always was curious about moog’s connection with space! It’s funny that the random and quirky notes that come from voltage control have for long been considered the standard of sci fi sounds. Even Moog itself promoted the connection with the “Moog Satellite” etc. Any thoughts considering you are carrying on a 50 year tradition?

I rather think that the ‘tradition’ of using “Voltage Control” (or indeed ‘electronically/electrically generated’ sounds) to augment and support Space/Sci-Fi ‘themes’ perhaps even pre-dates Moog.

well then, there is always Louis and Bebe Barron who made these little
cybernetic circuits to which they applied voltages until the little critters
fried and died and captured their wonderfully random lifespans on
tape for later mixing, i.e. Forbidden Planet – so “uncontrolled” voltage
was a landmark in that score.
