Making the MF-102 with expression act as a volume pedal

Hello, I have been trying to make my ring mod act as a volume pedal, I’m close by plugging my EP-3 into the mix CV input, then putting a dummy plug (1/4 to RCA adapter not connected to anything) into the carrier in, when I sweep from heel to tow the volume gets quieter, as I fade from the dry signal to the wet which is the muted carrier, works great but I really want the full volume when the tow is down and silent when its in the heel position. I thought by switching the mode button from (standard to other) on the EP-3 pedal would do the trick, but didn’t change anything. does flipping to other switch the Tip and ring? I think what I need to reverse the direction of the pedal is to reverse the tip and sleeve? Or is there an easier configuration that I just haven’t thought of? Trying to do this without adding much external gear.

Any thoughts?

Good question. Try using the expression pedal in the carrier in jack?

It sounds like the expression pedal is only covering part of the mix range. Did you adjust the knob on the EP-3?

Please post your progress or solution if you find one. I will do the same next time I have a chance to play.

Still no luck anyone else have some ideas?

I think I just need to build an adapter that will reverse the sweep of the expression pedal.

Does anyone out there happen to know the schematic for the TRS cable for the EP-3?

If you have a CP-251, you can plug the EP-3 (with the switch set to Standard) to the four input mixer and use the [- Out] for a negative CV

Does that help?

Yeah, should check one of those out. Been trying to avoid adding that but I got 3 other foogers so probably not a bad investment:)
