So I was exploring my Sherman Filterbank II processing Little Phatty II tones through it. I was using simple patch with the arpeggiator latch ON. Then I proceed with several hours of sound tweaking via the SFB. All of a sudden the volume from the LPII volume fades out, to nothing. So I flip it off and back on and still not sound. Then all of a sudden, after say a minute or so, the volume comes back up and I hear the patch, I start playing again and after a few minutes of functionality, the thing dies on me again.
OMFG! I am a retard. I had the Sherman Fitler Bank on a LFO controlled low filter cutoff setting where the LFO’s cycle is about 2 minutes long, thus explaining why sound would die out. Lame. Oh well, I guess I just learned something new about the SFB…and I still have more to learn apparently.
Man you know my partner and I have the biggest laught when we get ready to lay some stuff down and Ill be about to panic. “WHy isn’t this thing working, why isn’t this thing working”
THen my headphone jack isn’t plugged in or its just the volume thing.
lolololololol!
I totally can relate there!
Hows that sherman? Im looking at that or the EHX Bi Filter.
I have got to say that the Sherman FBII is great. A lot of the example you see of it are really over the top, but when used more subtly, it really shines. With the two filters in parallel and both audio outs panned far left and right, it is amazing. It is very deep, and as you can see I still have a lot to learn about it…
Also, I picked up a Flame Clockwork. That thing is the tits with Moogerfoogers.
I LOL’d at this! It reminds me of when I got my LP back from Moog, and the amp was unplugged, and I posted that I needed suggestions on how to get it working.
Yeah, I was in the middle of writing a letter to Moog Tech Support when the sound came back up, and then went back down, and came back up, in what seemed to be a very regular interval. I went back, checked all the cords and connections one more time and finally got to the Sherman and I think that I spied the LFO light go from red to green in sync with the sound dying down and I had my little epiphany and deleted the tech support letter…
