Magic 6!

I ordered the MF-103 last week & the 101 Tuesday of this week. The 101 came in only 2 days. http://www.sweetwater.com is.. the.. BEST! So, I rearranged the amps, pedalboards, & generally my whole bedroom so I could fit the Hosa 12U rack at the foot of my bed. I haven’t a clue what I’ll do when they come out with the MF-106 heh.

Here’s the money shot:

Tks moog.

BTW before anyone asks, I use the Radial Engineering Tonebone VT amp head switcher. When the Blackheart is selected, output is routed to BOTH the Blackheart’s speaker AND the Orange 112 cab. When I choose the Orange Tiny Terror, output is ALSO routed through both speakers. So in effect, I have a poor man’s 2x12.

Since the Blackheart is open-backed & the Orange is closed, I get great directional power with air too. In addition, I chose the VanAmps Sole-mate reverb unit. It holds within an authentic AccuTronics spring reverb since neither of my Class-A amplifiers sport the effect. I like to try & keep analog baby! All in all, its an extremely versatile setup that I’ve not seen anyone else use. I guess you could say I’m happier than a pig in sh1t!

Out of picture would be a ton of Boss pedals, $1K in Monster cables, Mesa Boogie Roadster, Peterson StroboTuner, Mackie mixer, Adam7 monitors, Korg MR1000 recorder, Sennheiser wireless, TC Electronic 1394 interface, Dell PC w/Vista Ultimate, Ibanez bass, Martin Orchestra cutaway, a Schecter Classic, Moog theremin, & Little Phatty Tribute. My bedroom is full & I don’t even have drums yet!

Carry on.

I would suggest electronic drums…they might fit better, and can be hand built for a fraction of the cost for a drumset…unless you go with a cheapo kit. In which case, there’s still the matter of where to put them. But I can’t talk.

I’ve got two 1963 12 inch end table speakers built by Knight at he foot of my bed, the Farfisa’s in the basement, the Mac usually leans against the Little Phatty’s X-stand next to my bed, next to which is my Peavey amp, on top of which is my 'Foogers!

And that’s not to mention the $79 Dean in the closet, the Pignose amp also in my closet, or the Hosa cables hanging anywhere they can. :unamused: Meh…it’s an obsession. That’s one killer setup you’ve got there, though!

Perhaps it’s my Canadianess showing, but the first thing I noticed was the HBC blanket on your bed.

Nice setup though!

Great setup!
All you really need now to wet your whistle is the cp251 and youll be complete.

^^ I second what EricK said, it opens doors that open doors to keys that unlock hallways full of doors.

I’ve heard an amp set-up almost identical to yours, and it sounded fantastic. Congrats!

An interesting way of putting the CP-251 into perspective, but so very true!

RESPECT!!!

Very cool! I can tell that you are excited. What sort of music are you making with all that stuff?

Space-warped blues ambience… if you can believe it!

Sweet rig! Any links to what it sounds like?

It’s a shame you’re not using that Mesa 2x12, though. Their cabs are kindof pricey if you’re just using them as amp stands.

Oh, I have a Roadster combo 2x12 that feeds into the cab!
You can see the footswitch in the top right of the pic.

The problem is, I need a couple EP-2 pedals but they have straight plug ends. When the Moogers are mounted in the rack configuration like I have, straight plugs won’t fit.

you need something like this:

Damn, that shot is money! Respect to my fellow Orange/Fooger brutha’ (Rockerverb owner here)! :sunglasses:

Thanks!

I picked up the Egnater Rebel-20 last night & scooted the Tiny Terror to the other side on top of the Blackheart. I’ll take a new pic tonight maybe.

I joined the “Magic 6” club last night! My Delay pedal arrived safely in mountains of foam and found it’s new home in my studio. I now have all 6 racked along with a CP-251. What a great feeling to finally complete this modular beast!

I got a bit nerdy and made up a list of inputs and outputs for each MF unit along with a color coded dot to describe it’s basic function too. I can now draw my patches onto that list and leave notes to recreate them. If I can make it universal enough, I will probably post that for others to use. I added the Voyager and expander to the list as well, even though I don’t own them, yet. I know there is a program for that already, I just needed it more streamlined to fit more info on a single page.

On a side note, I found using a monosynth as the audio input to the FreqBox can give you a very nice envelope control. I had CV going to the Frequency input on the FreqBox, the gate going to my SH-101 and the audio out from the 101 went to the Audio input for the FreqBox. When I adjust the envelope on the 101, it works exactly as an envelope for my Mooger Racks.

I will try running the CV signal to a Multiple and using it for the 101 as well, then I could sync the FreqBox to it’s oscillator.

Congrats! So that expensive delay was the last one eh? heh
There’s nothing quite like 6 in a row (or 2 rows).

I’d love to have a a copy of your I/O document when you finish it up! It sounds very handy. Nice to hear how you run a few patches as well.

Yeah, I have a tape echo so I wasn’t in a hurry to buy the most expansive one.

The rest of my experiment from last night:
I was running the FreqBox into the Lowpass (with an LFO on the cutoff Freq) then through the Ringmod (I had the CV into the Frequency in on the Ring too) and then into the delay. This made for some fun tweakablilties!
