maestro ps-1a and Moog comparisons?

After some research it appears that the phase tone I’m looking for is the maestro ps-1a. What caught my ear is the phase shifter tone on the violin and rhodes by the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Between Nothingness & Eternity, Lost Trident Sessions and other live releases and videos from '72-'73. I also believe it was used on Visons of the Emerald Beyond.

I see that the maestro is 6 stage, as well as the Moog. Also that Moog began making the pedals that maestro used to make in the early '70s or something. Does anyone have any experence with the 2 phasers and how similiar that may be, or how capable the Moog is to emulating the tone of the maestro?

i havent had a chance to play back to back with them. a friend owns the ps1a i played with it a coule years ago, and i have the 103. from what i can remember the ps1 sounded more like the phase coming out of the aux out on the 103, which is actually what i tend to use more. its a little more “static-y” i guess and not as overbearing and swirly.

EDIT: what instrument(s) are you looking to run this through?

interesting, i know the maestro has a very distinct sound. I would primarily use it with guitar.
