LPII USB QUESTION

Hello everyone. I recently purchased an LP-II and I love it! I am a guitar player but I’m also into production which makes the LP-II a very useful tool for creativity. I am a mac user and until now I had my LP hooked to a MOTU interface with MIDI ports and therefore no issues (this refers to my home setup - iMac). However, I decided to use the LP also with my band, so I tried to connect it via USB with my macbook pro and that is when I realised that something is going wrong.

As soon as I connected the macbook pro via USB to the LP, I got a message from the computer saying that my USB port was disabled in order to protect it from a device that is trying to draw too much power! It is essential for me to use the LP-II via USB, since I cannot carry around my main audio interface at rehearsals.

I am probably missing something but since I am not a synth player, I would appreciate some help. I also apologize if this topic has already been covered. However, I could not really find a solution to my problem after doing a quick search. Thanx!!!

The LP-II is upgraded to 3.12

Hi Monk77, welcome to the forum

I guess you just have to plug the MacBook in the wall.

This doesn’t happen with my Macbook. Wich version is it? OS?
Maybe it has something to do with the current OS… as Stive said, just plug it in the wall and try again that it’ll probably work.

Cheers!

Thanx for the replies! The macbook is plugged! Its a mid 2012 MBP with 10.8.5. The strange thing is that after experiencing this problem, I tried to connect the LPII with the iMac via USB and the same issue pops out! A problem with the LPII probably?
