LP2 won't install in widows 7

I have this prob as mentioned in the controllers forum-

turn on lp w/ latest os-

plug in usb on windows 7 laptop- no go-it gets recognized,
but wont install correctly- and is not recognized by any software.

perhaps a patch is in order here, as well, Amos ??

My first guess is “USB MIDI is broken in Windows 7.”
any USB-MIDI devices that you know are definitely working OK in win7?

used to be, microsoft had a generic usb midi device driver that worked. It seems this does not exist/does not work yet in win 7. Moog always relied on this generic driver for all USB-MIDI.

Rumor has it that this might work:
http://www.global.yamaha.com/download/usb_midi/
try it and let us know?

Windows 7 did not succeed to send firmware to MP-201 either, had to do it on a Vista system. So far for their claim about compatibility with Vista drivers.

I tried the yamaha drv- no luck
it says “no device found”-
maybe it needs some yamaha hardware
to install with, and then, perhaps, it might
cover some other devices as well?
