LP Tribute Edition Price

Howdy,

So I am helping to try and sell a LP Tribute Edition that was lightly used in a studio environment. It is in the original box with gig bag. I need some help on what I should be asking for this particular piece of equipment. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you all for your assistance.

Peace

Nobody replied so I will. I bought a Tribute used off eBay about 2 yrs ago for $1000. It was unused in original packaging (the bloke bought two thinking the 2nd would be an investment, limited edition and all). I subsequently sent it in for 2.0 upgrade and CV-out mod. I would struggle to get $1,200 for it today but that doesn’t bother me one bit, I won’t part with it. Despite having a Voyager Old School, I treasure the Phatty as much, if not more. It sits atop my 88 key controller that I play Ivory with and gets used all the time.

Moog, having released the SlimPhatty with what appears to be the same feature set (albeit slightly enhanced software) has made a statement [this is only my opinion]. The statement is “this product is here to stay and we’re not really looking to replace it with a new hardware; the platform has legs”.

Moog’s operating model; that being that they release hardware, continue to make firmware improvements which are distributed free of charge and in addition, offer factory upgrade options is unique and many of us buy Moog gear for that very reason (among others).

Sorry for the soapbox speech, the short answer is that I would expect that you can still get $1,000 for it. If you held onto it for 10 years or so, I would expect that (assuming it was upgraded with 2.0 and therefore capable of newer code revs) it would be worth quite a bit more than the 6,000 stage editions that were sold (I just made up that #).
