Also, if anybody is interested I have the pdf “manual” for the OS 2.0 addendum. I put “manual” in quotes because it’s ACTUALLY a manual; 20 pages.
New main ‘billed’ features that you get include:
- LFO Synchronization
- Tap Tempo
- An advanced, highly flexible Arpeggiator function
- Enhanced MIDI setup for US-equipped LPs
But if you delve into the details, there is also mention of the fact that MOD Wheel ‘now’ supports 14 bit Midi, a diagram of the new Menu structure, etc.
If you had the hw upgrade to your Tribute, then you are likely running the latest copy of 3.1 so this would not be of much interest. But if you collect such documents and like to have the history of the upgrades along the way, you might want this.
I wish that Moog left the entire archive of docs online. When they re-worked their web site, alot of this disappeared. But as mentioned on my post above, if you want the 2.0 manual, I’ll be happy to email it to you, just contact me with a PM.
When I bought my Tribute (2nd hand off eBay), it came with an envelope that was mailed to all original Tribute owners and it detailed the exciting new features of the “new” (at the time) features. It included a letter from Mike Adams dated April 3rd, 2007 that began:
**Dear Little Phatty Tribute Edition Owner:
Thank you for purchasing our Little Phatty. I hope you are enjoying it. Many of you were early purchasers of this great new synth and most of you probably know that we recently released the production model of the Little Phatty - the Stage Edition.**
(it then delves into the improvements of 1.03 which were numerous… and closes with the following text)
Personally, I was so excited about the job our engineering team did to incorporate this new feature into the Tribute Edition that I am enclosing a 20 page user manual addendum which covers all the new functions and the master menu. This is also my thanks to those of you who registered you LP.
Enjoy and thank you for supporting Moog!
I’m not sure that they knew at the time that they would eventually be producing a series of new Foogers, Taurus 3, the Voyager XL, the beginnings of Series 500 modules, and a number of well received IOS Apps not to mention a UAD Filter Plug-in and the driving force behind MoogFest; but as an American, I can say proudly that this is the sort of pride and innovation that America was built on. Moog is one heck of a company; long live the legacy of Bob.
