Hi to all moog-addicted.
i am newbie to this forum and i’d like you to help me identify the problem with my LP.
i have LP Stage I firmware version 3.1x671.
the issue is that the range of the 2nd OSC seems to be shifted down a bit .
in other words, i can’t get the perfect fifth (+7 semitones) when the OSC knob is dialed clockwise to the maximum, though the Down fifth (CCW) is ok and i can get even a little more than -7 semitones.
Looks like a tuning scale for the OSC 2 is shifted down, what do you think? i’m operating the LP after 60 minutes of warm-up.
Does anyone have had similar issues?
Would the OSC 2 calibration sort this issue out?
Hi. This is taken (and edited) from another thread in this forum. I hope it helps.
From Moog Technical Support:
There are 3 different calibration programs that all effect the tuning of the LP. The Note Calibration is the most important, but PW Amount and Osc2 Freq are also factors in the overall tuning. Some general tips for proper calibration:
Allow the unit to warm up for at least 1 hour in a room temperature area to allow for optimum stability of the oscillators.
Run the 3 main calibrations (Note Calibration, PW Amount, Osc2 Freq) one right after the other.
Once it is finished, go to the Fine Tune menu and set it to Auto.
If this doesn’t seem to help, then the unit may need some internal trimpots recalibrated. This should be done by a tech.
i really believe the matter is in the 2nd OSC Freq calibration. i was thinking about doing the complete calibration procedure right after i bought the LP (i’m not the 1st owner) but then it looked like everything was allright until tried to play the fifth using the OSC2 Freq tuning.
