LP Stage Edition - MOD DEST2

As I don’t own one yet I’m referencing the LP SE pdf manual, p. 31:

I understand the Advanced Preset menu MOD DEST2 page is intended to be a set-and-forget setting per preset, but I want to know if I can treat the Value knob like a realtime control.

In the MOD DEST2 page, when changing destination with the Value knob does the destination go into effect instantly?

If so, it seems like the Value knob would effectively function like the primary Destination switch in the Modulation Section–only faster. With the Mod wheel up, imagine sweeping thru Pitch, Filter, Wave, Osc2 with the Value knob.

When the MOD DEST2 page is displayed do the 4 analog editing controls on the front panel still function normally?

What happens when both primary and secondary destinations are the same? I’m guessing the secondary destination would have no effect, correct? Or would it cause the instrument to explode?

Thanks for your patience.

err, “yes” to most of your questions, except that there is no way to make the instrument explode from the front panel.

If the mod2 destination is the same as the regular mod destination you are correct in guessing that nothing different happens.

However something interesting does happen when you set the mod2 destination to something other than the regular mod destination: you lose a tiny bit of voltage from your mod1 destination. For example if you set the source = filt. env, and destination = pitch, there will be a certain maximum increase in pitch when you whack the Amount to full and the mod wheel all the way up. Now go into Advanced Preset and set the Mod2 destination to Filter - you’ll hear the pitch go down by a few cents. I only noticed that now while trying to answer your question.

Sounds good, Amos. Interesting about the slight voltage sharing drop. That’s what you get for hot rodding the little guy. Seriously, the 2nd mod destination is a very a useful addition. Thanks.
