Hello,
Is there a generic SYSEX tool one can use to manage the patch library on the LP/SP? I’m imagining an initial download to the tool, then the ability to drag and drop individual patches around, load SYSEX files from your hard drive, reorder patches. General library maintenance. Editing the individual patches is less important to me since the hardware editor is so good. Is there such a thing as a generic/universal patch manager or are implementations different enough that it’s a fool’s errand?
Or am I making more trouble than it’s worth and I should just pop the 70 bucks for the Moog editor?
Thanks,
CCQ
sysex librarian for mac osx is great. does all you need.
there’s also a free sysex tool from elektron called c6; it is cross-platform, very simple and seems to work well.
for what you are wanting to do, free is probably the better option ![]()
edit: oh wait! no never mind, these will let you record individual presets but not re-order banks of sounds.. the latter is indeed very specific to each product such that there’s no modern utility that allows patch/bank management across different synths. Last thing that attempted this was emagic SoundDiver, yonks ago.
for what it’s worth, I still organize my LP patches manually - output individual sysex, upload them to the locations where I want them. But I am old fashioned ![]()
Thanks Amos,
IIUC, I’ll use C6 to dump out individual patches, save them as files, then load them into slots one by one. Truth be told, you only end up with so many favorites, so this shouldn’t be a big deal.
Thanks for responding.

UPDATE Yeah, this works great. Basically use your file explorer as the manager. Downloading the patches one by one was a bit tedious but straight-forward and you only have to do it once. After, moving them around using C6 is cake. /UPDATE
