If the Voyager is $3395 and the RME is $2395. That would mean that since the LP is $1475 that the LP RME should be about $1040? That means that Moog will become a very affordable option for a synth and would make expanding a Voyager (or LP) a lot less expensive.
THe tribute edition is about 1300 retail. Moog usually inflates the price on everything and even they will tell you that a dealer can offer it cheaper.
THe non tribute edition will probably be about 1000.
will there really be a rack version of the phatso? i’m confused. or is this about the “plastic-sided” edition (if it’s really supposed to have plastic sides)?

I haven’t heard anything, but I don’t see why there won’t be a rack mount LP. I used Moog’s MSRP prices for my calculation. It seems that since adding several Voyager RMEs for extra voices is too expensive that a RME LP will make this possible. If I can get 2 LP RMEs for less than a Voyager RME that would be great.
Honestly - what makes you think they’ll release one as a rack? There’s already a small(ish) market for the synth as it is - just enjoy it for what it already is. ![]()
i think that they will, depending on the success of the Phatso (i really like that name
) but not for another 2 or so years. think about it if they did release one in a couple of years what phatty owners wouldn’t want some expansion?
and it wouldn’t be like the voyager/RME combo, i mean you could get 2 or 3 cause they’d be cheap!
i know i’d get one, but i couldn’t afford to get another synth till some time after i purchase the LP.
It makes sense to release one eventually but does it really matter at this stage? Buy things as they come
If adding a few LP racks to the Voyager would provide polyphony more cheaply than buying Voyager RMEs, Moog could be onto another winner.
I wonder if they’ve built that possibility into the LP design?
that would be a little slimmy. a little phatty on a diet.
I think they will be able to make a rack version. Bob designed it and always stressed care in his work so I’m sure if it crossed my mind it sure as heck crossed his.
I guess I should have added that I don’t think it will be released until after a couple of LP versions have been released. Once everyone settles into their new LP’s they will surely want more and the rack version can do that. A lot more people could afford LP racks to expand their Voyager or LP than the RME. I know I’d scoop up at least two of them.
I’m shure most of you know that the folks @ Moog read this forum. If your yay on an RME Phatso, then post it. The more people that voice an interest in an RME the better chance we have of Moog releasing it. “Closed mouth never got fed” If the next ver. of the lil lardass is going to be around $1000, that means that a RME Mizz Bigassssssssss! would be around $700-800. Like Lengai said, “I’d pick up atleast two them” Word! ![]()
I’m drunk ![]()
I’m seriously down for this. It’d be a great choice in respect to them instead just making a fooger with osc(s) and a adsr(s). Hopefully they’ll make both.. ![]()
