could the little phatty do the noise i loved the rogue for (among other sounds of course):
bleep–blee------blap—bleepbleep-ble---------bleeep-blapblop—blap—bleepbleep–blee------blap-
just standing there by itself? can you imagine what i mean?
or cant it be done because of the missing trigger button (the rogue has it, i think)?
i’d be very sad if it cant do this noodle sound…
and also:
which parameters will i be able to control via midi?
all which are accessible via the frontpanel?
well the rogue didn’t have a s+h option, as i understood it.
or is the “sustain out/in” switch a s+h switch?
unfortunately the rogue i once had is no longer here, so i can’t recreate the sound; but i vaguely remember that it had to do with how you set the “sustain out/in” and the “VCA mode” switch in connection to the attack and decay parameter.
possibly also with the self oscillation of the emphasis (resonance) and most definitely with the mod wheel.
any rogue users want to jump in on my behalf?
i guess it was what i wrote earlier in connection to the “auto trig” switch.
so this cant be done with the LP alone. i’d need the cp 251 for that…
hum. bad luck…
i loved that feature in the rogue. a shame, they didn’t put it in the LP as a feature for more ambient sounds. i’d buy it blindfolded right away. now. (when its my turn on the waiting list, that is)
Yes. You don’t need any extra equipt. The new operating system allows you to change the Mod source from Filter Env. to S&H. After you have made the change, push the Mod source button to Filter Envelope (which is now S&H). Now select your mod destination to Filter, turn up the filter’s resonance, and turn the cutoff down. Turn up the mod wheel. You might need to adjust the Mod amt. and/or LFO rate. Stick an unconnected patchcord into the KB gate. That will open the gate. You should now get your bleeps and bloops.
Yes and No! There is only one Mod source available at a time (per patch) so you don’t loose the filter env. source rather you change what the source is when it is selected on the front panel. The same goes for the the Osc2 source which can be switched to noise via the software menu.
ok. i misunderstood.
i thought they replaced the Filter Envelope with S+H in the OS.
are there any close ups from the control panel?
i don’t quite get how the Mod source is shows on the control panel, and how a change in OS is not reflected o nthe control panel.
or is the mod source setting only set-up via the LCD?
i guess there is a mod source LED on the front panel, and when you set the patch up to have S+H as mod source then the LED which indicated ‘Filter Envelope’ is now indicating S+H (while still showing the visual signal for ‘Filter Envelope’, is that right?)
Your last paragraph is right. The control panel remains the same. You just have to remember what changes you made to that patch: if you changed Osc 2 to noise and/or filter envelope to S&H. Once the changes are made in the menu and you want the S&H, you push the mod source button until the filter envelope LED lights up. As Glyph said, the changes are not global, but are only for the individual patch.
wonder if when moog has to re-order the supply of LP chassis that they will re-draw some of the artwork on the mod sources to reflect these new software changes.
