LP Pitch wheel problem

Hey guys
wondering if anyone has had a similiar problem to this:

our Little Phatty’s pitch wheel has started to play up - it sounds like it only intermittantly picks up the pitch values and makes it sound like ‘mad warbling’ if you try and use it - will it need replacing/cleaning? or could the be a firmware issue?

appreciate any help in advance

cheers

There is a pitch wheel calibration. Be sure to read the manual. You are supposed to do all 4 calibrations. If it is sending intermittent data it could possibly screw up the rest of the instrument’s calibration though (not permanently).

The LHC (left hand controller) goes bad after heavy use. It is a known issue along with the push encoder failing.

AFAIK, the only fix is to have moog replace it.

If what you’re describing is the pitch wheel applying an unstable pitch (like pitch modulation) when held still (such as bent up to the maximum position), I encountered that with my Little Phatty Stage II. Resolving the issue involved sending the Phatty to my country’s contracted Moog Tech for a professional calibration and/or replacement of some parts. You should give the user calibrations a go though (in the specific order mentioned in the manual and here in the forums somewhere) as they may help, without sending your Phatty away.

Cheers guys, i’ll dig the manual out and fingers crossed that does the trick!
