So far so good with the LP. Now I’m looking at Moogerfoogers to use with it. The manual talks briefly about the CP251. I’d like to add one of those or maybe a ring mod.
I briefly owned a Poly Evolver Rack. I had to sell it to pay for an auto repair. I had been planning on replacing it but went with the LP instead. I think the problem with the DSI products is that they put a lot of emphasis on making them sound as strange as possible and it turns people off. If you turn off the distortion and output hack and take it easy on the mod routings you can get some really nice, thick classic sounding patches out of it. I’ll probably pick one up eventually. For now I’m pretty happy with my Moogs.
Hey Amos. I’m just being overly picky. If you look at the keyboard from the front at eye level there’s a bit of a zig zag shape to the keyboard. I’ve noticed a couple have straightened out a bit since I’ve been playing it.
I think they sound very different from each other.
I don’t particularly care for the overall sound of the Voyager - I’m sure I’m in the minority here but there was always something “polite” about it regardless of how I programmed it (I spent many hours with it before deciding against a purchase)…the LP is a much better fit for me, there’s nothing “polite” about it, especially with the asymmetric clipping (overload) function!
Speaking of small versus heavy, the Little Phatty is 22 pounds, the Voyager is 45 pounds. While not a reason to buy or not buy a synthesizer, the Little Phatty is much easier to lug around then the Voyager. I can throw the LP in the gig bag and take it with me, to take the Voyager anywhere you need to involve motor vehicles.
Besides, the LP is worth it for the overdrive alone!
