), I’d like to get into this type of music creation but don’t know where to start. Please will you take a minute to steer me in the right direction?
I like high-quality equipment & something simple (yet full feature-set so I can grow into functionality). Do I simply connect a MIDI keyboard into a sequencer? I don’t even know the basic connections etc. Maybe recommend 2 or 3 sequencers, controllers to go with them.. & how to hook 'em all up. I love your sound. The 1st track sounded like the train scene in Risky Business with Tom Cruise. Awesome.

I dont use a software sequencer but 2 hardware seq. so I dont use controllers.
it is a cliche but if you want to master a music style, listen, listen.
it toke me some years to get a feel for, and master my (relative) simple music.
take a fragment and try to copy things.
you have a phatty that is a damn good start, second most important is to get a delay behind the LP.
take a bass part and make a seq. in a minor key 
after that begin to layer, make a intro, outro etc.
So, do I run my Phatty “into” a hardware sequencer through MIDI but then where, into my mixer & speakers? Is it as simple as that?
Does the sequencer’s MIDI out feed back into the LP for anything?
Are there any other devices besides the LP, a sequencer, & speakers I need to get going?
What sequencers might I be looking for? The P3 is out of production.
you can simulate a step seq. in your daw of course, but that is half the fun.
I just made a new track in 2 hours, I think with hardware goes faster.

I don`t understand your question, midi in and audio out is what you need.

Oh, so a hardware sequencer MIDI out feed into the Little Phatty’s MIDI input.
What I don’t understand is how the sequencer obtains the notes it needs to sequence. Where does the sequencer get its notes or samples? Do you set it into some kind of record mode then play the LP into it or what?
You can twist the knobs on the P3 sequencer to find pitches. Often you’ll quantize these through another device so that the pitches fall into the 12-note scale, perhaps the P3 does this internally. For a software version of these hardware sequencers, check out Numerology from five12.com.

the p3 has even a force to scale, all the scales you could ask for plus your own user scales, it is a mighty machine.
rotate the knobs and you never hit a “wrong” note.
