Little Phatty samples?

Does anyone feel like posting some new samples from their Little Phattys?
Maybe someone with a Voyager, Mini or Prodigy might feel like doing some A/B comparisons?

I’ve got an original Mini, but don’t have them set up side-by-side right now. In the meantime, I quickly threw down just some playing through some of the presets. No sequencers or production, just some quick’n’dirty noodling. Line out of the LP, straight into ProTools, normalized and nothing else.

WOW!!!
This thing sounds soooooo good, right? I’m not at all surprised, just elated…

Thanks so much for these recordings; You can get such a better sense of it’s sound capabilities from some actual well executed solos (versus the blips and bleeps of the official website samples).

The sync timbres are particularly strong, wouldn’t you say? They sound really full and complex, like a Mini, Odyssey, or similar classic discrete electronics American analog.

If you manage to get a chance to do some simple A/B type recordings next to your Mini, that would be fantastic.

Now I can’t wait to try the LP out in person when they hit the Music stores…

Wow…

the lp doesnt sound like the voyager to me, tho i know its got the voyager oscs. it sounds like across between a mini and a source. that can only be a good thing!

rock on dudes.

The LP’s overdrive feature sets it apart. I was impressed with how warm it sounded. Most built-in synth distortions I’ve experienced are awful and harsh-sounding. Also, a feature that the LP has up on the MMV.

i agree, the overdrive fattens (or should i say phattens) the sound up quite a bit, the whole synth sounds so beautiful…so much better in person…the samples do it shame…you have every reason to be excited

If anyone else would’nt mind, it would be great to hear some more sound clips. I know it can be kind of a hassle to hook everything up to record, but maybe if someone is already doing so tracks…

I’m anxious to hear some more from this synth. I’ve been thinking of buying a Mini Model D fo awhile, but I’m entertaining the thought of holding off and waiting for the LP. I’m sure it will still be awhile before it will be possible play one in the music store.

For anyone interested, there are now two LP demo sequences on the Phatsound web site:

Eric Frampton’s “EF_Little_Phatty_Quickie_Demo.mp3”

and

jukeboxhero4life’s “Little Phatty Sampler.mp3”

Did I mention that I love its boot sequence:

Sorry for the file size, I have no clue about video editing or compressing mov-files.

Thanks! That bootup is very cool - your MP3 sounds great. I really, really, really, really want a little phatty.

I wonder if the system is checking and calibrating each section as it lights up, or itf it’s just a bit of a light show? Either way, it’s fantastic and I wish other gear makers put as much style and thought into their designs.

I’m going to watch the boot up movie on a loop for an hour now.

Meanwhile I managed to press nearly half of the soundbank into one minute

Not quite sure if it’s better than the first version, but anyway

Doc T…you are my hero on the net for demos (evolver)…and now LP!!

I salute you sir!

Many thanks
James

A few more sleepy late evening sounds:

All sounds from the LP, a few delays from Cubase, some PSP Easy verb on one or 2 sounds.

Wow, sounds so cool, love the riffs you played as well. you should make an album like that.

dope.

Oops, thanks. I thought it was a rather trivial clip and wasn’t sure about posting it. In the end I did because this instruments sounds so amazing.
Just a first impression from the first hour after unpacking:

Drums from Spectrasonics Stylus, a little delay on some tracks from Cubase.
Boot up is awesome!

Nice demos! all of them are so awesome

I love the ending of the first one.. it sounds so much like ACID bass

Lil’Blue sunday morning:

All sounds from the LP, a few additional delays, some reverb.

Doc…this is very subjective, but i think the LP suits your style so much more than the Evolver.

Your style asks a lot…and the LP can produce! I’m not saying the Evolver cannot, but it doesn’t quite have the “in ya face” sound of the LP (and i’m not talking about the harsh digital in your face sound of the Evo). There’s just that something missing with the Evo that the LP most definitely has!!

Great demos again!

Thanks for you thinking that I have a style  I have the impression that my style is always the style of the synth that I actually use.

Anyway, I thought I’d just upload a few of the Cubase takes from the demo tracks that I made with the LP.

I’ve uploaded them to

http://www.trippler.net/misc/lp/takes

Maybe someone’s interested in more single sounds.

Please note that some of the mp3s contain crackles and glitches that do not come from the LP. I made those tracks between the time when I should have gone to bed and the time when I finally went to bed, thus occasionally forgetting to sync didgital desk and adat-card appropriately
