Little Phatty--Live Step Sequencer Suggestions

I’m looking for a step sequencer to control my Little Phatty Stage II via CV gate for live performance applications, and I would like the advice of this board. Full disclosure: I know very little about CV gate applications and would appreciate any info about the basics.

Here are my requirements:

  1. No computers allowed!
  2. Must be relatively compact for preferably tabletop use/live performance/gigging.
  3. I want to produce house/techno basslines/appegiations, etc.
  4. I’d prefer to spend under $500.00 (this is probably unrealistic).
  5. Must be able to sync to midi-clock tempo from an external drum machine.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

No love for midi sequencing? Lots of other flexible choices there.

The Dark Time is top of my list, but have you also considered something from DSI, like a MoPho or Evolver(?) Built-in 16x4 analog sequencers.

What about the Analogue Solutions Europa sequencer? I know it is midi, but does anyone have any experience with this device?
