hey!
i know the little phatty has a million other things going for it
(and it seems really crass to ask)
BUT
how well does it work as a midi keyboard?
aftertouch transmitted? easy to go up and down octaves? etc
thanx

no aftertouch ![]()
actave switching is smooth and fast, works like a charm. It’s my main master keyboard, positioned between my computer keyboard and screen. Perfect fit ![]()
ok so no aftertouch.
what about sending a poly signal?
it’s for my matrix 1000 which has (i think) 6 voices and uses aftertouch a lot.
many thanks.
yep the LP sends poly over midi and all knobs send CCs
ok that’s pretty cool

I had issues with using the mod wheel on certain synths and reassigned the Modulation knob for that duty. I have one ‘silent’ patch called “ext control” which is set up for use on other synths in that way.
Other than that, it seems fine to me. Not enough keys for much poly work though… ever played a 3-oct piano? ![]()
For me, LP’s keyboard is not as good to be master keyboard.
I use Roland RS-5 as master keyb.
Where can I buy a computer keyboard tray for my desk? I have a desk at home but want to add a computer keyboard tray. Where can I get one? I want one that is not too expensive and is easy to assemble by myself.
Hi everyone, first post here.
(Yeas, I finally bit the bullet and bought a Lil’Fatty I’ve been playing for over a year now - opportunity came so I seized it from the band ![]()
As to the question of topic, I have only positive experiences with using the fatty as a MIDI controller, in addition to operating it as a synth!
It is a big step in me solving a puzzle about how I like to compose and perform in the future. Try it, you’ll love it!
Which other MIDI keyboard sports such a nice set of knobs? Thought so
As an added bonus, I sometimes even forget I’m not playing a Moog, meaning that the psychological effect to tracking performance when using it to play “soft synths” is considerable ![]()
But what this union of MIDI, (and hopefully OSC in the future?!??) and a moog monosynth brings is - pretty cool to say the least ![]()
Another nice advantage of Lil’ Phatty STAGE II - we may use it as external controller for iPad midi enabled apps, such as Korg iMS-20 )
All we need is Apple Camera Kit, USB cable and to set some controller mapping in Phatty’s Pot Map menu.

I wonder if someone can write Moog External Controller / Editor for the iPad.
