This is interesting.
Any chance there will be an update kit for all the loyal, long-time Sub 37 users?
So is the Sub 37 done then? Subsequent=after
that is definitely leaving me depressed.
might explain why the second hand market is beeing flooded..
and if i hear limited edition nowadays i just do not believe it anymore.
Interesting to see Moog is coming up with new stuff.
I love my Sub 37 so no change there. Would be very interested to see if the CV and Gate outs become a retrofit kit on the Sub 37.
I’d be very interested in this as well. Not so much the CV outs, but getting increased mixer headroom on my Sub 37 would be wonderful. Right now the only thing I don’t like about the synth is how it always tends towards distortion, because I generally only use clean sounds and while these can be dialed in it’s often a bit of a struggle. Duo mode right now is something I almost never use for that reason. But otherwise I absolutely love the synth, so I’d totally spring for a mixer headroom mod if one was available.
Interesting : Upgraded Keybed …I would like to upgrade my Sub37 with that - it is about the only thing I would change

Yeah, I love my Sub 37 and the only thing it was really missing was the CV out.
Moog pleeeeeeeeeease come out with an upgrade kit for your loyal the Sub 37 users!!!
Not sure about the white color scheme yet. I think the Original Sub37 is one of the smartest looking synths out there. Not sure about the white…Is the price the same?
CV Outputs are what I’d really be interested in upgrading too. My Sub wants to be better friends with my modular.
Oh, and Moog, if your listening… big boy 1/4" jacks and not those dinky little earphone jacks you put on the Mother ![]()
I had the CV out modification done to my Little Phatty Stage II so hopefully there will be a similar mod kit for the Sub 37

I would have to hear a lot of extensive sound demos of the new Sub before I would consider trading mine in. There is A LOT that is incredible about the Sub 37 that could be lost while improving it. The Sub 37 has incredibly deep dark murky subterranean bass and the duo mode in the mid and high range distorts in absolutely the most beautiful way that will be lost with the extra headroom. No way Im trading mine in unless I hear some pretty amazing demos.
The keybed on mine sucks AND the velocity sensitivity needs to be improved though.
Seems to be a bit more expensive (which makes sense): http://www.guitarcenter.com/Moog/SUBsequent-37-CV-Moogfest-Edition.gc
Moog’s own announcement: https://www.moogmusic.com/news/announcing-subsequent-37-cv
I don’t see that much of a benefit. I’ll pass.
Just saw the Moog promo video for it on youtube. It sounds cleaner, but I’d like to hear quite a bit more before deciding on how it sonically stacks up to my Sub 37.
I think the additional CV outs would be very useful, however when it comes to the hardware, I’m a bit more intrigued by the improved keybed.
And I would love it if even a few of these upgrades were made available as some sorta kit for current Sub 37 owners. It really seems like this synth was actually designed for the current Sub 37 user…but most of us had a hard enough time saving up enough money for a Moog synth to begin with. It just seems like these improvements that were made with community/user input will be passed on to people outside of that community.
I think that the extra headroom thing isn’t something that would be of interest to me. I’ve not owned my sub 37 that long, but find the distortion that occurs during duo mode is amazing and very useful to me. I’d have to see some demos that showed me that the distortion isn’t lost before I get the urge to purchase.
Yes, the distortion sounds great, and there are so many ways to add additional grit to the signal path. However it is a little harder to get (for lack of a better word) cleaner sounds. I would assume that with the extra headroom you would still be able to add plenty of grit to the signal, and perhaps even over a greater range, giving more nuance and control when you take into account the individual OSC and FDBK levels of the mixer section, coupled with the Multidrive. But I could be totally wrong.
I wonder how many normal Sub 37s have been manufactured and/or purchased thus far? I’m also curious to see what happens to the used Sub 37 market over the next 6 months-1 year. I would assume this will be a great time for anyone in the market for a used Sub 37.
Ill wait and hear a ton of demos and maybe even buy one in addition to my Sub 37. How I really hope that they will do upgrades for the key bed on the Sub 37.
Me too. And it would be great to hear from people that buy the Subsequent and already have the Sub 37. I feel like those would be the best people to compare and contrast the two models.
I am in the queue with a UK supplier, so all being well I hope to make that comparison - probably not until September though.
I would really like my Sub37 keyboard upgraded to be the same as used in my re-issued Model D
