I have a Phatty Stage II that I plug into the MacBook running Live 7 via USB. Midi notes all work fine, but once the Phatty is hooked up to the computer, the LFO goes completely screwy. I can’t get it to sync with the live clock, though I have the settings correct in the OS. Not only that but the action of the mod wheel and amount adjustment just seems to do a pitch shift of +2 or 3 by adding harmonics (almost like osc2). All the routing from sources produces various versions of the shift, but no distinct LFO action.
If you can think of anything I can check in either software system, let me know.
Thanks for your help!
I have not had ANY success with Midi as of yet (except from instrument to instrument) but Im assuming that you know that you can’t get a full sync of an analogue LFO, but just the start of it.
Something I read in the Voyager manual the other day about making the LFO half of the speed of the clock setting so that it would never drift off tempo because it was syncd and retriggered by the midi clock.
I’ll try this to see if it is the problem.
I’ll get back to this forum soon and let you all know, in the meantime, any thoughts from you Amos, if you’re out there…?
Hi, more details would be helpful.
If you are sending/receiving/echoing MIDI from the LP to your sequencer back to the LP, then be sure that LOCAL CONTROL is turned OFF - you could be getting some odd behavior if there’s MIDI feedback happening.
Other than this suggestion, I need some more specifics about what’s going on. What sequencer, how is MIDI connected, what specifically is going wrong as best you can explain it…
