Yesterday I was experimenting with a borrowed MS20 and my foogers. I used the MS20 for it’s keys and send a tri wave to the freqbox for some sync bass which I really like. I usually leave the Env and FM alone since I, well honestly I’ve been a happy clown playing basic sync synth bass with my Rickenbacker through it. But now I wanted to see if I could use the foogers as a small synth of their own. And when I started increasing Env Amt it just sounded ripping! Sure, it’s a really crude synth but hey, it’s Moog! It would be really interesting with a second Freqbox. Man I’m so hooked on foogers… ![]()
I had the opportunity to get a second FreqBox (in a pack with the wanted ClusterFlux), but I haven’t been that much into making a synth out of them. Fact is 1-I don’t have any 101 so 2-I end using the LittlePhatty for the 2 osc synth duties. Simpler, faster, lazier, happier (my Daft Punk song
)
But yeah, definitely, that can be fun: 2 FreqBoxes and a LP Filter… a cool little synth!
Don’t forget a MF-102 when making a Moogerfooger synth. I can’t say I’ve done this from experience, but it would make perfect sense to ring mod the FM of the Freqbox and then shape it a bit with a MF-105 or MF-101. Add a CP-251, and then things would really get interesting…
