keyboard mapping out of whack.

i’m not sure if this is the best way to describe the problem or not. also i just updated to 3.5 and i’m not sure if the problem is related to the update.

i hooked up my voyager as a midi controller (it was inactive for a while). the keys did not relate to the keys on my virtual instruments. playing up the keyboard one, two or three notes would be skipped over at a time.

when i checked the audio out of the voyager i found the same effect was happening with the internal triggering too. it doesn’t play in scale. by ear it seems to be skipping the same number of notes.

any ideas?

thanks.

If this problem is on all presets I guess there’s a broken chip or so. If that problem is only on a few own presets you should take a look to the pot mapping destinations. If that problem also affects other keyboards on the MIDI out then the Voyager keyboard got a problem.
Have fun,
Rudi

yeah it happens all the time. nothing to do with presets. i cleared all my presets when i updated.

the keyboard seems fine physically, all the keys trigger notes. just the wrong notes. and they seem to be consistently wrong. not jumping around.

i guess it’s looking like a repair might be called for. too bad. :frowning:

ps. when i did the update the voyager asked me for bank D twice (once after B and once after A) and never bank C. is this normal?

is it possible to connect a master keyboard to your Voyager? If yes, how is the tuning then?
Rudi

thanks for the replies rudi,

i hooked up my novation to the moog and all is fine. as a matter of fact i realize now that i goofed up before (the don’t call me goofy for nothing)

the keyboard’s internal scaling is fine. i’m not sure how i got those other results. too late at night for problem solving i guess.

but my original problem remains. the midi out of the voyager is off.

thanks again.

I guess there’s a problem with the keyboard processor. You should contact Moogmusic.
Have fun,
