Kenton Pro-Solo and Freqbox tracking: how is it?

Does anyone here have experience with how well the Freq Box tracks using the Kenton Pro Solo (or some other MIDI-CV box)? I’m trying to decide whether to buy a Phatty or save a little longer for a Voyager, and one key element in the decision will be how well I could expect to use the FB as a third oscillator (since I’ve already got one). Since I don’t have access to any MIDI-CV boxes to try before buying, any chat about strengths and drawbacks of this approach would be helpful, thanks…

I haven’t tried the FreqBox yet, but the MF101 Low Pass Filter tracks beautifully through my Kenton Pro Solo MKii.

If you are going to have a Voyager then you could always control the pitch of the FreqBox using the VX-351 as I’ve done in this demo:

Here is the description of this demo from my web site:

VirusTIAftrglowMSArp.mp3 is the (Marc Schlaile?) patch named AftrglowMS on a slow arp playing two low E’s and an E minor chord above. This is then fed through the FB, which starts out on a sine wave with the VCO tuned to E. I then used the keyboard CV out on my VX-351 to control the pitch of the FB from the Voyager keyboard. The melody you hear is all FB. Near the end I hold a note on the FB (an E I think) and start messing with some knobs. The end is the Virus mixed out by setting the FB mix to 10 (or close to it.)

Thanks dzy and fbq – I’m assuming that the Voyager pitch CV-out is tracked well by the Freq Box, so I guess my question is whether the Kenton and similar units are tracked just as well.

My Kenton Midi>CV Pro-Solo works very well with my FreqBox. I imagine in shipping the FreqBox got a bit out of tune so I called Amos and he told me what to do. I posted instructions on how I calibrated mine, now it tracks right alongside my MOTM VCO like they’re twins.
