Well im trying to replicate the patch used by a band called select start in the beginning of kiss your genre goodbye i have the basic sound but i wanna know what would the effect or w.e. he has on it at the beginning would be called or how it is done. I know it isnt because of a pedal because i saw them live when he didnt have those pedals he has now. and i know he has a lp. Please let me know if u can help.
sounds like both oscillators are on, probably set to sawtooth, probably osc2 sync is on… Glide is on with a fairly short glide rate. that might be it really… you could put a small amount of triangle wave LFO , destination = wave, to give the patch some motion.. although I don’t hear much motion in that patch. Does this help any?
Pretty soon you will be getting to the point where you can listen to something where there is alot of active synth programming in realtime and youll be able to know instantly what the people are doing.
Then you will hear a crazy sound in your head, very complex synth patch and youll be like how would I program that? This usually happens to me when im going to bed, its 1am and then i hear something like that or worse, a chord progression. If I don’t jump out of bed and pick it out it will be lost.
Yeah…That’s how I uploaded four patches to Knob Tweak. Two of them were done while I was half asleep. I had dreamed I was in a factory and this machine was making these sounds. I woke up and HAD to recreate them. Thus STEVEMILLEREE and SHEER NOISE were born!
