Update: Ok so today I test drove two Voyager’s at Noisebug in Pomona Ca. All I can say is “WOW” The addition of one of these to my Moogerfooger set up is going to be out there, way deep and great sounding. I love the maple wood box with Jade Green back light panel the best outta the 2 I played.

I bought a MF-103 12-Stage Phaser while I was there. That just about finishes my Moogerfooger rig. I just need to figure out the patch bay/road case/or pedalboard and mounting details.
My neighbor has a Voyager. Oddly, I’ve never played it. It’s the electric blue. He keeps it in the dining room, because the lighting is better. He told me the blue flecks are invisible in his studio. Never played a Voyager, but I used to play my uncle’s system 55 and P1 when I used to visit him.
Perhaps you could post your location and some kindly person in your area would allow you to come play theirs?

After I had my Select for a few weeks I think the Fantom G’s came out and I went down to the store and checked out this New G 8 that they had proudly displayed. I dialed up a few synth sounds and I wanted to tweak the filter and then the filter resonance. Then I wanted to do this and that and …menu rape.
Knob per function is like heaven. Truly. Theres no guessing going on, no detours, just A to B and boom.
i imagine that the OS is perfection.

Oh in LA probably every music shop has everything. Here in Arkansas in the capital city the guitar center didn’t have ANY Moogs.

THats what sucks about Moog products (the only thing). Depending on where you live you might not even know what a Moog is. And some stores won’t carry a floor model because they are so expensive. So you just have to order rom a catalog or internet and hope.
I ordered my first Voyager signt unseen.

The Voyager is like the Sirens beckoning Ulysses. Unless you have deep pockets, stay strong when you first see and play one.
The one and only Guitar Center here in New Orleans has had the same Voyager for YEARS (well, more than one…). They couldn’t even sell it at the Easter mega-sale. I love my Signature Series, but I think for most people, the Voyager is way too much $$$ to just drop the dime on. I know I couldn’t buy one now (bought the Signature pre-wife and daughter. And we both still had jobs…). All I can figure is that the big retailers don’t want unsold inventory filling up the walls, especially in this economy. Or maybe it’s just that people don’t want to deal with the typical Adam Henrys that work @ music stores and just order online… 
There’s only one Moog retailer here in Australia, so the brand is a pretty rare thing here. Luckily it’s not too for from where I live, (45 minute drive), so I’ve had an inspection and play of the Voyager a few times, not any more now I have my LP though!

I’m from San Diego, but I once drove up to Analogue Haven (best analog synth retailer on the West Coast) to try a Voyager (AE) for the first time. They also had a Doepfer Modular for customer testing, and a vintage Minimoog in the back for eyes only. Analogue Haven is based in Pomona, but as of a couple of months ago, they closed their store front! All you can do is order online now. You should’ve gone when you had the chance.

Analogue Haven split in half. One owner kept the Analogue Haven name and went mail order only. The other owner kept the Pomona location and renamed it Noisebug. So there’s still a store there to visit. Last time I was there they had some Moog stuff setup.
I would have to go to another state to see a Voyager. I think there’s only Banjos for sale in Alabama.
