I've got wood! (now with more finished pics)

lol sorry for the topic but thought i would share what i orderd from synthwood.com today. mahogany sides! btw they are awesome to work with big ups.

Synthwood did the wood end cheeks for my Yamaha CS-15. They do nice stuff. They were smart enough to realize that the thicker wood panels would require longer screws and bolts than the stock ones, and included them as part of the shipping package.

i want to put wood sides on my LP SE II.

has anyone upgraded their LP SE II with wood sides yet? i am curious how to accommodate for the I/O area of the panel. it appears that the rubber side is one piece that supports all of the I/O jacks and connectors.

“Tribute wannabes”?

Assar, can you blame us? I’m going to e-mail them for a quote now. I totally need wood sides!

Yeah but the tribute wood can’t handle the MIDI additions.

Not blaming anyone, I would propably have done the same.
Wood panels is fabulous!

Nice. Aesthetically speaking, I think the wood looks better with the red/orange lights of the Stage.

I’ll be making my own though. :astonished:

CTRLSHFT LMAO @ Shaun Of The Dead outtake

LPTE #585 <----------------------- I Got Wood Too

This is a good point. One would have to use the sheet metal that is on the inside of the rubber panel. Or, make their own.

I actually prefer the grey rubber panels, ultra-monochrome. However, if you want wood it’s cool that there are options and you could get any type of wood and stain. A LPII w/black or very dark stained wood would look nice I’m sure.

You can see a photo of the I/O panel with the wood installed here:

The metal panel looks pretty good under the wood cutout, and everything is solid. I used my P-Touch with clear tape to make labels for the connectors.

yep. i’ve seen this gorgeous piece of technology before.

thanks to you and Voltor - i haven’t popped the sides off yet to reveal the metal panel beneath. the control cavity will need to be cut to accommodate the stacked MIDI/USB jacks but otherwise looks to be doable. now i just need to decide if i want figured maple or cherry or walnut or … maybe i should order a few pair to suit my daily mood.

make a carbon fibre one for the LPSE2 and ill have one

I thought about doing that. Then I realized I like wood better. To each his own!

I have been talking to synthwood after i receive these panels im sending him my normal one so he can make a plate that mounts over the cv midi usb etc which will also be labeled. Can not wait for these to come in yes it is a tribute wanna be but it looks nice.

I like to think of it as less of a tribute wannabe, and more of a want to be Moog. Pretty much all their products have wood end-caps, it makes perfect sense that people would want their Stage Editions to continue that tradition. It just looks better than the gray rubberized ones.

I’m having Coco Bolo sides made with brass inlaid Moog logo, though not by synthwood.

Where did you get the brass logo?
