Strange… my Prodigy’s serial numbers, both 9xxx, are printed with a rubber stamp or something similar, not hand written. Maybe the rubber stamp had only 4 digits.
Most of the Prodigy serials used that stamp, even the 5 digit ones.

Although every Norlin era Moog I have has a hand written serial. Strange that those Prodigy serials use some kind of stamp. Perhaps they lost the stamp by the 12,XXX series? Always thought the hand written marker serials were kind of cheap. Can’t even read the ones on my Rogue or Taurus II. But all my R.A.Moog modules have written serials too.
Ya know, I think that’s where the docs were found to fix mine up!
Rubber stamp here. #1246
As simple simon as the Prodigy is, it has one of the meanest sounding hard syncs in the business!
Absolutely!
Don’t get me wrong, I love my Prodigy and wouldn’t sell it for anything! But, the prices they fetch these days are rediculous.
I’m sure the Prodigy is a great piece of gear. But I would trade the second oscillator of the Prodigy for the S&H and input/output signal and CV versatility of an equally well maintained Micromoog, especially if we’re in the $1000. price range.
