Is my 'Audio in' broken

I have purchased my Minitaur last weekend and have been setting up to my home studio.

My set up is as follows

PC > USB > Minitaur

USB > Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 > Midi in > MicroKorg
Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 > Midi out > Minitaur > Audio in from Focusrite Output 1
Minitaur > Audio out to Focusrite input 1

Now I can use microkorg as midi keyboard and can record tracks through ableton as an external instrument.

however when i try to play a sample through minitaur their is no sound coming back from minitaur.

I dont know if my minitaur is broken or not.

I have followed amos youtube video step 2 with no luck what so ever.

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Have you tried simplifying your setup to test & verify whether the Minitaur is functioning correctly?

You might try connecting your MicroKorg directly to the Minitaur via a MIDI DIN cable, and monitor the Minitaur’s audio output via headpones or a direct audio connection via the audio out port. Make sure the keyboard’s MIDI OUT is enabled, and it’s on the same MIDI channel as the Minitaur.

If the Minituar works with that arrangement, the problem probably isn’t the Minitaur, and you’ll need to troubleshoot the rest of your gear hookup, one piece at a time. You can test the MIDI I/O chain from your computer using a free application like MIDI-OX.

Once you know all the hardware is hooked up & communicating correctly, THEN you can worry about configuring your DAW software…

I’ve answered here already.
Please, let me know if it works or not.

Good info in tagirov’s post!

Don’t forget the part about the “External audio” level while you’re testing with the Minitaur~
That is controlled (by MIDI only) completely separate from the volume control on the Minitaur panel.

Since it’s MIDI, there’s always the possibility that you could have inadvertently set the External level to a very low level while tinkering with your DAW.
Resetting everything via the Minitaur Editor might get you off to a good clean starting point.
