There have been some scary fires in wrightwood california which is where I believe he lives. I hope things are OK!
I hope that nothing happened to him then… ![]()
He’s fine. He’s been on this forum quite a bit in the last week or two…
The Wrightwood fire started a few days ago . . .
Read about it here:

I’m ok. Thank you very much for your concern.
I’m very flattered and thankful with the number of emails, calls and offers to help.
I might add that none came from anyone in my highly dysfunctional family, who never contacted us once.
The mandatory evacuation order was lifted about an hour ago and people are returning to their homes. The roads are packed now.
Only one home in Wrightwood was burned and it wasn’t ours.
We were very lucky.
This place is beautiful, but it’s like living on a stick of dynamite.
As such, we’ve always been prepared to bug out and have a closet solely devoted to emergency supplies.
Unfortunately, there was some very real tragedy around here.
One firefighter lost not only his house, but also all 20 of his dogs.
Worse, he lost his previous house only a few years back from another fire.
He sacrificed his home (both times) so that he could help others.
A true hero in my book.
Anyways, the fire is still quite alive and only 32% contained, but is considered less of a threat now due to the huge numbers of fire fighters and positive wind conditions.
It remains only a few miles away, but is contained on that portion.
So we’re safe, very lucky and extremely thankful to have such good friends who care.
Thanks a lot!
Kevin and Monica

Natural disasters are no fun. I was displaced by the flood of '06. Glad to hear that Kevin & Monica made out better than I did.
