Interesting find

Some Moog modules came my way for some TLC.
Thought you’d find the label on the Moog 910 power supply interesting…

I have a little history on these.
The 904A filter was used with a custom envelope follower, likely for Clavinet, piano and organ.

You should call and see who picks up : ) Maybe play the “love will keep us together” riff for them?

That area code (213) used to encompass all of Los Angeles.
Later, that area (Chatsworth) changed to 818.
It may have even changed since.
From what celebs I knew or know, changing numbers every few months is common.
Anyway I doubt they’ve kept the same number all this time. (which I’m sure you knew)

The Captain is Daryl Dragon (as you may know). His father Carmen Dragon was the conductor of the Glendale Symphony where I grew up. And yes, it was all 213 area code for a long time. Nice trivia.

And are you the same Kevin who worked at SMMS in the late 70’s? I was there '77 and '78, same time as Rob and Jill and Darrell etc.

Interesting power supply!

Kevin …

Any 921b’s in there? I’m done replicating the tracks (top and bottom) for my 921b clone , from just 1 pcb photo and 2 top view photos !..where a lot of areas are in deep shadow. Well, I am dedicated and thats the type of chap I am ! I’m not etching yet as I need to keep cross-checking many times. But if there are any photos of any 921b’s I would looooooove to see them.

I notice that the 921b osc. and early Minimoog Osc. use quite similar components, do they have the same timbre?

kind regards

No 921s in this lot, sorry.

The 921s and Minimoog vcos are very similar, but 921s are a bit hotter and have more frequency range.
I have no idea about comparisons between rise times, waveform shapes, etc.

All I could find that might be helpful is this pic of a 921B.

Thanks Kevin, this is clearer than the one I got before and does help.
