I took it apart because one of the pots is loose. Tightning up the washer underneath the knob doesn’t help because when you turn it all the way clockwise, it loosens the washer again. Its like the holes that the pot is in has worn slightly bigger than it needs to be. I don’t think theres anything behind the shell that holds the pot in place other than that washer.
All of the foam has rotted out so I removed it. It had no elasticity whatsoever. I don’t know what happens to the foam when it rots but it has almost an oily substance..i think it made my finger itch when i wadded it all up.
THe paint is also flaking off pretty bad…I just put it back inside the box hoping that the heat won’t ruin any more paint.
The contacts on the s-trig and accessory plug are white…i guess thats corrosion.
Basically I think its better to just say that I have one and not use it. At least theres videos of it on youtube now.
Thanks for those inner views Eric, always wanted to see the insides of that electro-acoustical device…quality AB pots as per moog standard…looks like a good restoration job for you to tackle.
Indeed. Very simple design, not too much going on there. The speaker appears to be a one piece cone design. No surround? Or perhaps that’s just a paper lip? At any rate, a simple thing. You know how to keep pots in place? Epoxy! The Chuck Norris of the glue world!
