IMPORTANT: Heading release, please install 1.1.16/0.9.36

Hi all,

First, let me thank you all for your great work and valuable feedback you provide us - it’s much appreciated and really helpful.

We have been working quite intensively here to get the version as stable as possible, and we believe that this update should show some significant improvement in term of stability, compatibility and functionality.

We are planning to release very soon, so at this point what I would like to ask from you once downloading and installing the new firmware and software, is to try to use it intensively and look for major/critical issues. Please put aside the trivial GUI issues and look for crashes, freezing, presets and library import and export faults, MIDI issues, and anything else that you can think about ! Try to make it fail…

This kind of input is very important to us, at this point where we’re at the last phase of the Editor development. Do not hesitate to post about anything that you may find. Please forgive us if it takes us some time to respond, as we are trying to catch up with everyone and basically working on the version during all this time

Protools users - We really need to know if all AAX and RTAS components are fully functional in your version of PT. Please load it in your sessions and let us know how it performs, thanks in advance.

Ableton users - We would like to make sure it doesn’t crash for you anymore.

Important change in this version - Although it is still possible to load more than one instance of the plug-in a session, only one is always active. Please try it and let us know if you experience any freezes or crashes.

I will respond to specific/older reports with requests for bug verification where needed, and may post more request under this thread soon so please follow.

Much appreciated !

Flawless installation. Firmware installation seemed to take longer than before, but no problems.

Hello Gil,

I was not able to open the updater. My security settings should allow for this to be opened. Info in sig

Hi, i can not open “Sub 37 1.1.16 Firmware Updater” with Yosemite 10.10.5.
Anywhere is selected in security and confidentiality.

Thanks in advance !

Fixed and re-uploaded; sorry about that.

Mac users can re-download from same link: http://www.moogconnect.net/downloads/sub37/Sub37_firmware_v1_1_16.zip

Thanks, Amos.

I was able to open this one. Updating now.

UPDATE:

On the second part of the installation, it looks like an error occurred.

As you can see it says “No Device” connected, yet it is still connected via USB. I will restart my computer and try the installation again. BTW I am using a USB HUB.

EDIT: After restarting the computer, the second attempt at installing was successful.

It is recommended not to use a USB hub when updating firmware.
A direct connection is definitely more reliable. We might want to put this right into the updater info text…

Okay

Updated firmware to 1.1.16 using the updater - no issues and a clean installation. Point of information this was through a SIIG USB 3.0 Hub.

Installed editor 0.9.36 - first look at standalone and in Live 9.6 seems stable, but have not put through a rigorous test yet…

One strange thing I noticed, which may have been brought up already but I’ve been on (too much) travel already this year so little time to play -

  1. Bring up the editor in Live
  2. Don’t click anywhere in the editor and hit , nothing happens
  3. Click in the window or change any control
  4. Hit and Osc 1 will cycle on/off on each key press
  5. Hit and then wil cycle Arp Sync
  6. Hit again and will cycle Mod 1 Hi Range
  7. … and so on

*** Note *** Once you bring a different window on the screen forward and then back to the editor the cycle start anew.

This may be a feature or random action, however if it was planned the currently affected button should be high-lighted in some way to let the user know which he may (accidentally) change. Since you would not want to actually light or change the color of the actual LED on the screen I would (if possible) change the color of the button text. If that is not possible due to the way the Sub 37 screen is rendered on the display I would overlay a different color text or box.

(Sorry - I do write tactical display software occasionally and information to the operator is paramount! )

both installed fine under OSX 10.11.3

Hi,

No problem with the updates.
Works fine under X64 and OSX
gonna check it out now

Regards Luloop

While updating firmware from 1.1.13 to 1.1.16, I could continuously hear the sound from my last-selected patch (BOOM BAH, with latch on) starting from the second phase install. It was quite annoying, but otherwise, the install went through successfully. I could still hear the patch sound once the sub 37 got rebooted, but changing current preset worked properly and stopped the sound, as expected.

I did not test the plug-in yet.

smooth installation of both on my setup w/ Windows 10

I have noticed that too. It can be confusing, but doesn’t seem to affect the update process, so probably only a minor level issue.

Hi Gil,
I just installed the Firmware and librarian (including the update for Ableton Live) under OSX 10.10.5. All went fine. But when I startet the vst under Ableton Live 9.6 and try to retrieve the patches from my sub 37, nothing happens. It just stays at 0% for a while. its the same with the au plugin, it just stays at 0%.

Then I disabled the “Auto Send” in the Hardware Presets. after that, the transfer was running. But after it finished now my Sub 37 doesnt react anymore. All lights are on and the display is clear. It stays the same when I turn it off and on again and disconnect usb. Its serious broken !!! :frowning:

OK, somehow the firmware updater was still running in the background and initiated a new firmware installation, this is now running …

Goat

Thanks!

Hi Gil,
as Im still new to this forum, where do i find the latest version?

Greetings,
Goat

Check now

found it . So the problem on the 16er version was, that I didnt quit the firmware updater when I started live and it was just blocking the connection between the librarian and the sub 37. after a second attempt it worked and my moog isnt broken anymore

Im just installing the version 19. Will have a quick look and then got to sleep as its quite late here in germany.

Greetings,
Goat
