I dónt understand anything about the Voyager glide modes

Hi,

I have a simple note patternt in Live pianoroll with several of the notes dragged to overlap - to create legato glide.
Glide mode 4 works as expected when making a big gap between non-overlapping notes - if I just draw in 1/8 notes and dont force gaps between the notes - the glide appears
randomly - why is that? MIDI is a digital protocol and I should assume the same information to be sendt through the cables each bar.

I dont yet get any usable results from the 7 other glide modes - please help!

Thanks for your time !

Hi,

Till wrote a nice guide very recently… http://www.moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12274

So use Glide Mode #1 = Legato Glide.

Be sure to give a real pause between two notes that are not intended to be played legato. Some MIDI software prefers MIDI on data to be transmitted and so the MIDI note off comes later then intended. Especially true for busy multiple track sequences with lot of additional data (CCs, aftertouch) also being sended through a single MIDI out. The legato modes might now work in a setup of multiple Voyagers being used polyphonic. At least, I had no chance to test it that way. And be sure, to have your Voyager set to MIDI KEY ORDER (Master Mode) to MAXIMUM KEYS 1 and ACTIVE KEY: 1 (or was it named OFF? → not at the Voyager right now). Otherwise the note buffer might not work as intended.

Legato is mode 2.

Thanks a lot !

I had not seen your reply on my first post.
