The CP-251 really completes the Voyager! I just got it, and hooked it up today. I have a slowly modulating drone going on right now that is really fantastic! Using the VX-351, the CP-251, and the Vgr’s internal MOD capability, I got stuff going on that is producing “happy accidents” all over the place! I keep getting interesting filter and wave sweeps, swooping oscillator freqs, and divebombing timbres that just don’t seem to repeat. Powerful stuff, I love it!!!
And I have to give props for the Nady SM-250A studio monitors that I’m playing this through. I’ve read a few negative reviews on these, but for the price I got them for, I decided to give them a try. I am glad I did! Excellent freq. response, especially the bass response, and with two 50 watt amps per speaker, these suckers get loud! Also, if what I did to them today is any indication, they’re damn near indestructable!! I was hooking up the synth and didn’t notice that I had plugged one of the speakers into the mixer out/filter in jack. When I turned it all on, I got what looked and sounded like a pure, high volatage square wave into that speaker. The woofer was pumping like mad! No apparent damage, though. Excellent!!!
Thank you Bob Moog and Moog Music, this rig is what I’ve been looking for for a long time! ![]()
