Well, I’ve only had my TE for a few days, and have recorded with it multiple times, played a live show with it as the only synth, and practiced it extensively at home through my amp and headphones- I’ve played Moogs and other analog synths for years and am very much impressed with this instrument’s tone and ease of use- I’ve been rumaging through this forum and am seeing many posts, alot of them paniky, about noise issues with the filter and high registers- Maybe I’m more deaf than I thought I was, but I can’t reproduce any of the God awful noises you guys are freaking out about, and I have one of the “noise-loaded” Tribute Editions- Forums always bring out the zealots I suppose- I’m just into playing live and this thing was worth every cent to me, so far at least- If it’s an issue audible with headphones and no band, but not otherwise, then to me it’s not an issue, but that’s just me of course…
From a previous post of mine, here’s the issue, it doesn’t seem to affect every unit

First I played a simple bass patch to give an idea of the volume
The EGR Matrix is OFF
At 00.09, I’m turning the cut-off all the way to the left, so that the digital hiss will be isolated
At 00.11, I’m turning the EGR Matrix ON
Then I’m playing with the modulation knobs and buttons, because for some reason it has effect on the noise
At 00.27, I’m turning the EGR Matrix OFF
wierd! I guess it doesn’t apply to all, and I do know I’ve lost some high end recognition from playing punk guitar too many years with no protection
And I didnt mean to sound smarmy- I found a Grenache/Shiraz blend and I do believe my wife over served me and turned me into a purple toothed wiseass…
There you go!
I can live with it, but I’d sure be better off
That’s exactly the same hiss my unit makes. For a month or so I was so annoyed I stopped playing. Now I can live with it though I can’t understand how this passed the quality controls.
Anyway, nothing is perfect and it’s a very great synth which you can make lots of interesting sounds with.
I usually switch the EGR off when I start, and only put it on to finalise the envelope
Not very convenient, but hey…
