does anyone know? one of the holes on the back perhaps? please help.
First, you’ll need some rope, a good pair of spiked shoes, and a lot of water. You can use the holes as footing, but make sure you have three limbs well-grasped at all times…hee he…sorry ![]()
Assuming the Rogue is exactly the same as the Taurus II, here is what is in the Taurus II manual:
(warm up 15 minutes)
- Set Glide control (R13) to minimum
- Use a digital volt meter to measure voltage at tip of KEYBOARD IN/OUT jack J1 (note: this is NOT the audio output)
- Alternately depress low F and high C keys.
- Adjust Keyboard Scale Trim R24 for a 1.41 volt DC difference to achieve a 1 volt/octave scale factor.
R24 is in one of the holes on the back, farthest away from the output jack (far right past the “g” of the Moog logo). The other R-series holes allow you to scale the oscillator tuning, etc., so don’t mess with 'em unless you have to.
Argyle; thanks so much for the info! i wonder if perhaps i could just do it by ear? that is, without the volt meter. or might i get a shock?
Depends how you define ‘shock’
. I’d be wanting the right tools meself…
Interesting though, I’ve had a rogue for 20 years and I’ve never had to do a thing to it. Rock solid. The MiniMoog scaling on the other hand…
that’s funny, because i’ve never had a problem with my mini…eh eh, a hmmm…erm. ah! i’ve been meeing to get a volt meter for a while anyway, i should probably just do that.
It is funny really. My Mini’s shot from about half way down. Playing it is not currently a nice experience; something akin to having your teeth drilled.
You can scale the keyboard by ear as long as none of the other trim pots are out of alignment … but you won’t know that unless you use the volt meter.
