How often do you use the Control Inputs on your beloved Voyager?

Voyager owners please vote.

Does anyone have any hits or tips for unique modulations?

thanks :sunglasses:

I always use them, and voted accordingly.

I’ve just made a breakout cable (from an old printer cable cut in half and 15 or so jacks) which I’m gonna connect up to a patchbay. Then, hopefully I can use them a whole lot more!

A lot. The control inputs make the Voyager more than just another anlog synth - it allows the Voyager to become the basis of a semi-modular system. While the Voyager can be used on it’s own to great effect, the CV inputs (and the Mix Out and External In routings) take sound creation to new levels when various Moogerfoogers and other CV gear are employed. This kind of flexibility makes the Voyager a real gem, IMO.

I posted a few interesting CV modulation routings on MoogSpace a while back. You can find them here:

I mirror what GregAE says.

I only use the mod2 input for a Moog pedal.
But I use it all the time.

If you removed ‘and other cv gear’ would your opinion be similar as to the usefulness of using the cv ins and moogerfoogers w/ the voyager.

I was waiting for the voyager and just using the mfs by themselves and instruments that didn’t already have filters.

I thought the extra LFOs might work into another voice, but I ended up midi-ing to another synth for two voices. Controlling the volume from a small mixer and having the keyboard mode lower note on the bass synth and higher note for the solo.

Back to mfs. Other then a pedal or two I haven’t gone much into it. Might be just patch shy or I’m waiting to ‘see it’ before using them together.

I have hopes for using the 351 but the 251 has my interest more. There is so much routing available since the last updates a couple of years ago. So far nada.

I use it only a modest amount of time right now because all I have is a Voyager and one cv pedal. I plan to get the MP-201 where I believe my cv usage will go up to always.

Absolutely! The CV jacks on the Voyager provide an additional measure of connectivity, creativity and usefulness with the MoogerFoogers that would otherwise be missing.

Say you need an extra LFO for Pulse Width Modulation. Take the LFO Out from the Phaser and plug it into the Voyager’s Wave jack. How about an Envelope Follower to control the filter? Patch the Env Out from the FreqBox to the Voyager’s Filter jack. Wanna get crazy with some audio range modulations? Use the Carrier Oscillator from the Ring Modulator into the Voyager’s Pitch jack.

The possibilities abound, and they get better when the CP-251 CV controller and VX-351 Expander are added to the mix (more gozintas/gozoutas, and more control).

Try it and you’ll be hooked.
