That was awesome Tom! Really high energy. Glad you were able to capture some bits. Even shot some pyrotechnics from the ribbon controller. Excellent!
That was really NICE… ELP… It was a Great rendition, Very similar to the Welcome Back album, But with your own flair. THANKS ![]()
Awesome Tom! Really enjoyed this!
Here’s another for you guys… Moog & hammond antics…

Heh, try doing that with a B3! No – don’t!
You are in a very elite club of people who actually gig with Moog Modulars. WOW!
You are a brave man!
It would sound even better if you slowed it down just a tad. You’d probably hit more of the notes… (from one musician to another).

.
OK, Stephen, let’s hear your version then…!?
Hey guys,
You did VERY WELL indeed. If I had not broke my leg and ankle I would have driven over from Liverpool to support you for sure.
The Bass and Drums are obviously important but it is the Keys which bears the ‘lead role’ in this outfit (and I think you held it very well). Playing material on a gig is a million miles away from practicing it at a rehearsal (as you will obviously be aware of) in which case I am sure you would admit there may have been a few ‘loose ends’ here and there. Keith’s right hand is extremely fast and difficult to emulate at speed (in fact did you know that OSCAR PETERSON rated Emo’s playing and technique extremely highly !!). Anyway, you did the right thing in filming/recording it for reference and I guarantee within a few months of gigging your band set will be as tight as F### !!
And what an amount of GEAR you use !! OMG !! I never seen a stage so full (and I did 9 x months with Eric Delaney who carried Timps, Gongs, Bells, Vibes, etc…).
What’s the other Hammond keyboard you use please (ie. not the L100) ?? Is it an X5 ??
The Modular sounds wicked as did your soloing and Emo licks !!
Keep up the great music ![]()
Paul Seaman
Thanks Paul,
The ‘other’ Hammond I use is an Alesis QSR module patch - played from either of my two boards on that side… a Roland JD800 or Ensoniq SD1. The QSR patch is my own edited one, from which I then use one of the aux outputs, through a Boss chorus, a Yamaha graphic and an Alesis Microverb. That signal then goes into my bank of Leslies and also a Selmer guitar amp/2X12 cabinet. The L100 also goes into the Leslies but it arrives at the Selmer via a ‘FuzzFace’ Germanuim transistor pedal.
Cheers,
Tom
Hi man.
Is the Alesis QSR the same as the QS6/QS8 keyboards ?? If so, they have a great Hammond patch called ‘High Life’. In any case, you get a very authentic sound from it. Probably also due to all the amp routing !!
So you place your L100 thru the Leslie and also thru the Selmar amp.
Its a hell of a set-up I can say !! ![]()
Paul
That’s the one Paul…!
