Jean Michel Jarre rarely used a moog (Rendez Vous).
Vangelis rarely used a moog.
Vince Clarke and Depeche Mode used moogs frequently.
Klaus Schulze, Christopher Franke and Tangerine Dream all used moogs (modulars mainly).
Eloy have used a minimoog in almost every cd they have released (check out “Illuminations” from the Colors lp (1980)).
I just saw Devo for the first time ever on 8/26/05 (yes, for the first time ever - in 2005!).
Minimoog was featured prominently on Smart Patrol/Mr DNA. Very nice warped wicked cool electronic mayhem was dished out by Mr. Mark Mothersbaugh! Oh, and the microKorg and the (2) Roland D50s were put to shame by the classic Minimoogs!
Brand new Depeche Mode release features a Moog Prodigy. Song title is “Precious.”

The band Air does, they’re one of my personal favorites. The bassline on the song “Alpha, Beta, Gagga” is all Voyager. They are quite popular, although I don’t think they’ve really had any “hits”.
Incidentally, if any one here likes the Memorymoog, they should check out the album 10,000 kHz Legend. That album is full of Memorymoog.

Their first ever hit, ‘New Life’ from 1981 used a Prodigy too…
There was a period when David Bowie used Moogs from 1970 to 1974, starting with The Man Who Sold the World album and skipping to Diamond Dogs, where that combination of Moog and Mellotron gave an aura to the music. It was most noticeable on TMWSTW though the player (Ralph Mace) was not part of the band.Apparently Bowie heard that Ralph had a Minimoog and asked hiom to attend the sessions. I believe he was already in his late fifties during that session.

DEVO are touring again!!!
The first live concert I went to was DEVO at Glasgow Apollo in June 1980 - I might fly to the US just to see them again!
Anyway, in 1980 Mark M of DEVO played a minimoog live using a 9 foot flagpole. Can’t remember the song (or the flag!) but he played it by swinging the flagpole vertically off the edge of the stage, striking the keys of a minimoog which was side on to the stage in time to the music.
I’m sure they were not cheap in 1980, but I wonder if anyone today would subject a mini to such a treatment!
