Hi, new RME owner with a question about midi xy features.

Hello, just like to intoduce myself, I had been reading these forums for a while and found a lot of helpful information, I scored a great deal on a demo model RME and took the plunge.

I have to say that coming from a Juno 106 and Korg MS2000 I finally realize what people were talking about when they mentioned Moog.. My lord I was drooling within 2 minutes of setting it up and playing around with it.

Anyways I had a question about the X/Y feature that I was hoping one of you might be able to answer.

Is it possible to use an Alesis Photon X25 and use the X/Y axis controller to control synth functions on the RME? I presently have a MAudio controller which is ok but I was curious about manipulating audio with the X/Y on the photon.

Thanks again
Justin

Wow 40+ views and no one knows?

Well, should’t this be a question for an Alesis message board? Maybe none of us use or have experience with an Alesis Photon X25. This a Moog board after all…

By the look of it, I would say yes. Isn’t that what its for? Controlling MIDI data?

Maybe I should have posted it on an Alesis message board, nevermind.

I don’t have the Alesis, but I’d bet you can. The thing is, you’d probably have to map the midi that the Alesis is putting out to whatever function you wanted to control on the Voyager. So you would need software that would do this translation for you. If that ends up being the case, there’s free software that will do this, but the name escapes me. Good luck.
