Hi all, new RME owner - and here come the questions :)

Hey guys,

Look forward to joining the community. So ever since grabbing this unit, I’ve been doing some homework, and have some quick and dirty questions for ya!

  1. No more Squarewave, and moogspace is empty (for me at least). Anyone know whats happening on this front?.. This would probably addresses my following questions
  2. Presets - still relatively fresh to programming, would love d/l and study some of guys’ work. Any links?
  3. The “Kick it up a notch” article - really want to read up on this, any links - seems to answer my next question…
  4. Overdrive - Any tips on how to achieve this. Love this feature from the Phatty.

Finally, in pursuit of 4 and some other effects, I’m thinking of grabbing a distortion peddle - here’s my post on Gearsluts: Here

I’m caught between Soundblox Multiwave (multiband distortion), Sansamp GT2, and Malekko B:Assmaster… come to think of it this might need its own thread…

Thanks guys,
J

All can be found on the new Yahoo! page, “KnobTweak”.

Welcome, and enjoy.

Amos from Moog had recommended the ProCo Rat 2 at one point for getting Phatty-like overdrive on the Voyager.

Awesome guys! Appreciate it.

Hi J,

KnobTweak picks up where SquareWave and MoogSpace left off. All of the SquareWave articles are posted on KT (some have been updated), as well as dozens of Voyager patches from myself and Mark Mahoney.

‘Kicking It Up A Notch’ deals with overdrive techniques on the Voyager. It will answer your questions about overdrive. You can find the article in KnobTweak>Files>Voyager

See you on KT!

Lol. I bought a Proco rat after i read that and couldn’t get it to sound anything like the little Phatty. I almost returned it but it sounds great on my 909 and 303. Dont like it much on the Voyager for some reason.

There’s a video on YouTube (by Big City Music) demonstrating the Malekko B:Assmaster with the Voyager. Sounds bloody incredible. Don’t know how close to the Phatty overdrive that is, but it really souds incredibly good. -CM
