I have a gig tomorrow and i lost my ac adapter to my lowpass filter. 2 different music stores have both sold me ones that don’t work…what do i need to ask for?? I know it’s 9 volts, but besides that what parameters does the adapter need to have…running out of time!

9V output, 200mA, must have a POSITIVE tip. The positive tip is very important.
Oyster is quite right. The polarity of the tip must be positive. Most AC adapters for effects pedals have the correct voltage and current specs, but the wrong tip polarity.
Make sure your local music store understands this - no idea if they will have what you need, but they might be able to suggest something.
