SP just arrived! I’m relatively new to synths, these days I’m very busy at work so I cannot play with the new toy
I started to study the manual but I can’t wait: does anybody can tell me how to make an helicopter sound with the SP??
Thanks!

Just the props?
Noise, and an LFO to the filter cutoff, vary the resonance to taste for starters.
Thank you for your answer Erick!
I imagine something similar to the heli in The Wall…

Noise? Where is it?
Can you be a little bit more detailed?
Thanks!
The LP does not have a noise audio source. It has noise as a modulation source, in the menus mod source 5 and 6 (env and osc 2 on the panel) can be changed to S&H or noise. You can fake a noise source by routing it to pitch or filter with high res, but with this patch you need the mod bus to send an LFO to the filter cutoff. You would need to put a noise source into the LP’s audio in. Luckily, noise is easy to come by. Radio static is an easy start. The CP-251 has a noise source, so does the MP-201 but I am not sure about it’s use as an audio source.
While nosie is one of th best ways to do a “chopper”
try this.
Set oscillators 1 and 2 to 16’ and a square wave. Tune osc 2 to around 3:00, or to taste,
Set you filer cut off for 0, open and close for the chopper flying by.
Adjust res. To tate.
Keyboard amount around 1:00
Env amount around 2:00
Overdrive 0 or to taste
Filet ENV A 0 D 5:00 S full R 12:00
VCA Env A 0 D 5:00 S Full R to taste
LFO Sawtooth wave
Destination Filter
Rate 12:00 to taste
Amount 11:00 to taste
Mod wheel up all the way. Play low C
Still play with using noise through the input though… Many times on the Voyager( or tother synths) I’ll do a combination of nosie and low tuned osc’s
Enjoy
It works!
It’s not perfect but it’s very close, thanks!
You’re welcome.
have fun
