Has anyone tried to use a Freqbox on a vocal

I had not noticed this posted here before. This is fascinating. This is similar to a technique that Morton Subotnick used in sidechaining short vocalizations. Trevor Wishheart has also done a lot in exploring elements of the human voice in electro-acoustic music.

I think one of the unfortunte side effects of vocoders is that everyone things that a vocoder is the only way to use the human voice to modulate oscillators. As this video illustrates, this is clearly not the case.

Subotnick would call his modulating tracks ghosts tracks. This is what I would like to do with voice and other things. My using something natural like a human voice, you give blur the line between electronic sounds and human and natural sounds. This creates a kind of suspension of the nornal logic of the brain to process what it hears and place it in some category.

I will have to do some experimenting with this.
